Remy Company
The Company

- Founded in 1967 by Paulette and Rémy Zahler, the company specialized in providing chauffeured limousines to a demanding clientele, including national and international political and business figures, renowned entertainers, and several major companies based in Lausanne.
- 1972 The fleet included 7 high-end luxury limousines. As parking and maintenance in the city center became challenging, the “Rémy” family took over the management of an underground parking lot with over 150 spaces, also offering maintenance for luxury vehicles owned by clients parking there.
- 1974 Despite strong local competition, the “Rémy” family decided to acquire two small coaches to transport local sports teams, among others. These included a 17-seat Fiat and a 30-seat Setra S9 (painted in the blue colors of Lausanne-Sport at the time).

- 1977 As business continued to grow, the fleet expanded to include vehicles ranging from 4 to 54 seats.
- 1980 The founders’ son joined the company Rémy Excursions to support the administrative side, which had been solely managed by Mrs. Rémy while Mr. Rémy drove across Europe. The company then became Rémy & Son. From 1981 to 1983, the fleet grew to 10 vehicles, including the family’s pride: the purchase of their first brand-new coach, a Mercedes 303 Ménarini equipped with video, toilet, fridge, and coffee machine — complementing other brands in the fleet such as Neoplan, Drogmüller, Setra and Padane.
- The company became one of the leading coach operators in the canton of Vaud. Given its commitments at the time and its future plans, it evolved into a limited company with a capital of CHF 100,000 under the legal name Voyages Rémy Zahler SA, commonly known as Voyages Rémy SA.

- 1990 Everything accelerated — it was a period of major conferences. Voyages Rémy became the go-to partner for “incoming” agencies to manage large-scale congresses. Local businesses and associations also contributed greatly to the growing demand.
- The small company, through hard work, had become a leading transportation provider in the canton of Vaud. Yet it always remembered that its success was thanks to its loyal clients and the dedication of Mr. Rémy in operations, with Mrs. Rémy and their son managing administration.
- 1995 Business was thriving, and in order to perform even better and meet the expectations of a loyal clientele seeking greater comfort and safety, new vehicles were added — including the renowned Mercedes Tourismo and the double-decker Setra 228. For local events, the company acquired the one and only original London Bus.
- By the end of this period, Voyages Rémy SA had a fleet of 13 vehicles ranging from 4 to 72 seats.

- 1997 Fleet renewal with three Mercedes Tourismo 350 coaches, including one Royal Prestige model with 34 luxury seats, used for numerous multinational companies and international Olympic federations.
- 1999 After many years of dedicated service to the company, Mr. and Mrs. Rémy decided it was time to enjoy a well-deserved retirement. It was decided that, starting in early 2000, Voyages Rémy SA and its affiliated companies would be handed over to their son, Pascal Zahler, who had acquired over 30 years of experience within the company — fully prepared to take the lead. The continuity and spirit of “Rémy” thus remained in family hands, preserving the values that were key to the company’s success and will continue to guide it in the years to come.
- 2000 Purchase of a brand-new double-decker Neoplan coach with 71 seats.
- 2005 Acquisition of the coach garage that had previously been rented — a necessary step for long-term stability.
- 2006 Rémy could now rely on loyal, experienced staff and a fleet of 16 vehicles ranging from 4 to 71 seats.

- 2009/2011 Acquisition of a competing company located outside the canton, followed by the restructuring of this new business. In 2011, administrative offices were created within the company’s garages to better manage operations, now involving 17 vehicles.
- 2013 A major setback brought 15 very difficult months, which were overcome thanks to loyal clients, dedicated staff, and hard work to understand the causes. After weathering the « tsunami, » the company — which never ceased operations and retained all its employees — bounced back. Like a phoenix, it rose again, especially in its home canton.
- 2015 The situation stabilized thanks to everyone’s efforts.
- 2016 Business picked up. The company restructured into a more agile organization.
- 2017 Increase in affiliated partners and delivery of a new 58-seat coach.
- 2020 COVID-19 disrupted the industry as early as January. By mid-March, the entire fleet was grounded and the staff placed on short-time work (RHT).
These were extremely challenging times, but thanks to solidarity and everyone’s motivation, the company still has a bright future ahead.
